Life is uncertain & acidents can happen anytime, whether it's a car crash, a fall from a staircase or a bathroom, or even a simple slip and fall. You could consult Dr. Venkatdeep Mohan, who specializes in treating orthopedic trauma injuries and is located in Bangalore. These injuries require immediate care.

What is Orthopedic Trauma & Fractures?

Any severe injury to the muscles, joints, ligaments, bones, and soft tissue of the musculoskeletal system caused by an external force is considered a trauma. These trauma injuries, which necessitate immediate medical attention, frequently occur as a result of a sudden accidental sports injury, a domestic fall, physical violence, or a traffic accident. Older adults who have osteoporosis, a condition that makes bones weak and brittle, are more likely to break their bones when they fall.

Though trauma injuries are mostly not fatal, they could have a lasting impact and therefore require prompt medical attention from a trained orthopedic trauma specialist. Dr. Venkatdeep Mohan is considered a specialist in providing orthopedic trauma treatment in Bangalore.

Broad Trauma Symptoms

Bone fractures or severe damage to soft tissues are examples of traumatic injuries. The following is a list of general symptoms.

> Severe Swelling & Pain
> Bruising
> Feeling a cracking or popping sensation
> Deformity of the extremity

Orthopedic Trauma Treatment

Depending on the injury, orthopedic trauma patients may receive surgical or non-surgical treatment. Less severe injuries can be treated non-surgically by placing a cast, sling, brace, or splint outside of the injury for stability.

More serious injuries may necessitate surgery. Commonly done procedures may involve usage of plates and screws or intramedullary nails for fixation of the fractures. Dr. Venkatdeep has extensive experience in the management of fractures, complex trauma, open injuries, complex periarticular reconstructions.

Trauma Rehabilitation & Healing

The process of rehabilitation begins as soon as possible. To maintain range of motion and prevent strength loss, mobility is essential.

The type and severity of the injury determine how long it takes to heal from a fracture. It may take several months for severe cases to heal completely.
